The Death Of Rock'n Roll

With extreme grief i say that rock'n roll is dying. The era of ACDC, Metallic, Megadeth and Iron Maiden is almost coming to an end, the day of reckoning, the day when rock will be forgotten and mainstream pop and stuff like rap and dubstep will run rampant on the streets.
The era of hardcore badboys on drugs on stage with guitars and such instruments is coming to an end. Now a special kind of music is coming out where people are more into the hotness of a chick who is singing and not the song they are singing about. Yes i agree some of the songs are really good but most of them are not.
There was a time when people were afraid to come in close proximity with a metal guitarist because he might shoot you. But now its nothing great at all considering the progress Justin Bieber has made in showing that he is a badass by spitting on one of his fans. This is a completely different outlook people have on current pop stars, the outlook being that of shame and regret whereas for the rockstars back in the 90's it was of fear and respect.
Everyone must have heard of the big 4 right?
(Just in case you are wondering, the big 4 consists of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Pantera)

Now this concert is a heaven for the metal fan. Featuring Metallic, Megadeth, Slayer and Pantera, the big 4 concerts have always been sold out for any show.
Now that people like Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus have taken up the stage i feel that the era of rock and roll is slowly but definitely fading from our minds and mindless house and dubstep music is taking over the big screens. I remember during a Lamb of God concert I returned home with a bloody nose, in concerts of say Demi Lovatto one can not possibly get a testosterone rush and beat up the next person he sees.
The world has seen some mammoths in the rock and roll industry but even they are not coming out with new music. In fact most of them have reverted to pop rock or punk rock which again, according to me is a violation of most of the things Rock stands for. Yes i agree that some other genres of music are still alive and living strong, but the era which changed the way most people think right now was the era of rock and roll.
One of the most classical compositions done by Led Zeppelin can be easily considered as one of the finest work of art the music industry has seen. Yes i am referring to the song "Stairway to Heaven".
This song was one of the first songs i heard after which i became a die hard fan of theirs. In the 80's and 70's the lyrics of most of the songs were extremely meaningful and deep, lyrics which would actually make us contemplate the meaning of life and shine light on the difficulties people face in their everyday lives. Now a days whenever i ask people if they have heard of the legendary song "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, I get a weird look on their face as they tell me they have not. A song as legendary as this must be heard by all just to remind ourselves of our rich musical past and the lyrical genius of the one and only Freddie Mercury.
To conclude all i would like to say is that although new music is coming out and they may have catchy tunes, we must not forget our heritage, the father of most of the current music. We must not forget the amazing tunes and guitar solos to which maybe all of us once performed an air guitar to. Songs which we could hear at any given time of the day to elevate whatever mood we may be in. we must not forget Rock and roll for it is our past and I hope the legends return to the big stage once more and show the people of the world about how rich the music back then was.

Samsung galaxy note 3: Design the story of your life

The samsung galaxy note 3 Phablet smartphone is another one of samsung's genius in action. Unveiled on the 4th of September in Berlin, the galaxy note 2 was announced with the jellybean version 4.3. Compared to the samsung galaxy note 2, the note 3 comes with the Exynos 5 Octa5420, the octa core processor which revolutionised the idea of the number of cores that can be added to a phone, the very idea that made the samsung galaxy S4 famous everywhere. Here are some other specifications of the phone:
GPU:                   ARM Mali T628MP6
CPU:                   Octa-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 and 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7
DIMENSIONS: 5.95 inches height, 3.12 inches width
ANDROID VERSION: Android 4.3 jellybean
BATTERY:        3200 mAh
DISPLAY:          Super AMOLED 388ppi(1920 x 1080) (16:9 aspect ratio)
SENSORS:         Hygroscope, Barometer, Gesture sensor, Gyroscope, Hall effect sensor,
Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Thermometer, RGB light sensor.
CAMERA:         13 MP rear camera with autofocus, BSI, 1080p and 4k video recording

The Galaxy Note 3 will ship with Android 4.3 "Jelly Bean" and Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz user interface and software. Additional pen-oriented features have been added to the Note 3's software; removing the stylus from its compartment (or pressing its button whilst hovering over the display) activates an Air Command menu which provides shortcuts to pen-oriented features such as Action Memos (on-screen sticky notes that use handwriting recognition to detect their contents and provide relevant actions, such as looking up addresses on Google Maps and dialing phone numbers), Screen Write (an annotation tool), Pen Window (which allows users to draw pop-up windows to run certain apps inside), the search tool S Finder, and Scrapbook. The multi-window functionality has also been updated with expanded app support, the ability to run multiple instances of a single app, and the ability to drag and drop content between apps. The device also ships with a news aggregator app known as My Magazine, accessible by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, and an updated version of S Note.

Once unlocked, you have access to the standard five customizable home screens that you can load with apps and widgets. You also have the option to add and remove home screens as per your requirement. You also have the standard apps and widget listing pages. The drop down notification gives you access to shortcuts such as screen rotation, Bluetooth, data, multi-window, brightness and more.

Since the phablet falls under Samsung’s Note series of devices, you get the whole added functionalities of the S Pen. You have the standard slew of apps such as Notes, Gallery, Videos and more. Air View, a feature that made its debut with the Note 2 is also present on this device. You simply hover over a folder to see its content or hover over a message to see it in detail or simply hover over a video to see the preview. These features can be turned on and off as per your convenience from the settings menu.

If you are a creative person, like taking notes or simply want to draw on your phone, then the S Pen is something that you will use. If you aren’t into this, then you will hardly remove it from its housing.
When you remove the S Pen from its housing, you get a small widget on the display called Air command. This gives you access to a bunch of S Pen capable apps such as the Pen Window, S Finder, Screen Write and more.

Moving on to other abilities of the Note 3, long pressing the back button pulls out an app drawer. This app drawer lists all the apps that you can use in the multi-window mode on the phablet. Yes, the device has the ability to run two apps simultaneously on the display, something we have seen on other high end Samsung devices. You can have the browser running on the top half while watching a video below. You could be checking your mail and checking out Google maps at the same time.  It’s quite a handy feature and one that you will be using quite a bit especially if you appreciate multitasking on the go.

Last but not least, the Note 3 also offers pop out play. You can watch your videos in a small window on the display of the tablet while taking care of other work.

There are a bunch of other gesture-controlled features such as S Beam, Air Gesture, Air View, and more that we have seen on smartphones such as the Galaxy S4.

Samsung has packed in so many features in the Note 3 that the more time you spend with it, greater the chances that you will uncover a new feature or an app compatible with the S Pen or some new gesture control.

The rear of the Note 3 houses a 13MP camera. The version of the Note 3 that has launched internationally (running on Snapdragon 800) has the ability to shoot video in 4K. The version launched in India however only has the ability to shoot video in 1080p. The camera brings with it a slew of shooting modes such as Auto, Beauty Face (enhances facial features while taking a pic), Best Photo (takes a series of photos and picks the best one for the user), Best Face (takes 5 pictures of a group and merges the best faces for the final image), Sound and Shot (enriches the picture by adding a few seconds of background sound), Drama (takes multiple exposure pictures of a moving subject and merges them into one dramatic picture), Animated photo (Creates a picture containing selected moving objects by animating certain parts of the picture), and more.

Moving on to real world performance of the phablet, let’s start with the touchscreen. Touchscreen performance is smooth as silk. With the Air Gesture feature, there are times when you don’t even need to touch the display to interact with it. There was no lag or stutter whatsoever while using the touchscreen. The keyboard on the tablet is quite accurate too. Typing is a treat with both the hands. There is a single hand mode on the tablet as well, but it isn’t comfortable considering the width of the Note 3.

Coming to the video playback, the Note 3 didn’t support the MKV audio or AVI video formats natively. MP4 HD files however were recognized with their subtitles. Watching movies on the Note 3 is a great experience. The display is crisp, color reproduction is accurate and the audio is quite loud.

Since the power under the hood is good too, the games we played on the tablet ran very smoothly. Real Racing 3, Dead Trigger, Angry Birds Star Wars II and more ran very smoothly on the Note 3. It was a treat playing the games as the display was good and responsive, audio was clear and the overall performance was smooth.

If you are in the market to pick up a large screen smartphone (larger than 5.5-inches) with some impressive specifications and a lot of preloaded apps and features, the Galaxy Note 3 is a very good pick, especially if you’re enamored by the apps and potential of the S-Pen. However, if all you’re looking for is a large display, then we would advise you pick up the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The LG Optimus G Pro is another alternative worth considering, if the above two don’t entice you. Both the G Pro and the Z Ultra pack some impressive hardware with the Z Ultra boasting of weather-proof capabilities as well.

Tale of a fallen angel

Well this is it. This is ground zero. I never expected to reach here ever but here i am.
I was sent by my father onto this planet for one purpose only, Healing. But since that didn't happen i cannot really say that I am not to blame.
Year 2013, October 1st, I was sent to the Earth to clear all suffering, I was sent here to rid the world of evil and hate, I could not believe it when i was holding the gun to my own brother's forehead.
God himself had sent me to clear the world of sickness, i descended from the heavens in a comparatively human form, apart from the wings and the clothing, I was almost human. Moving into an apartment was quite the job considering i didn't know anything about this place humans refer to as
"Manhattan". I found refuge in a busted apartment complex beside a coffee shop. My neighbors were quite the sweethearts bringing me a welcoming cake and gifting me things like lamps, portraits and so on. But this one person, this neighbor of mine, he was a tall dark and swarthy man with a scar across his face and something that looked like a dagger of some sort in one of his pockets. He would leave his house at approximately 9:30 in the morning and return only when it is late at night about one in the morning.
Thinking that he was just another commoner I went back to my mission of clearing sickness, I began with the local orphanage. The looks of sadness in the eyes of some of the children was enough to melt even the hardest stone. The tears of unfathomable sorrow in the eyes of some of those who were unfortunate enough to watch themselves become orphans made me angry at humanity for inflicting such pain on these poor souls. Looking at all the sorrow in their eyes I requested my father to show his generosity and perform a miracle such that all of them could live happy and fruitful lives, and lo!
his divine grace shined his light upon them and immediately the look of sorrow vanished from their faces and was filled with happiness.
After a job well done i return to my apartment complex to rest, this human form may be good but it most definitely is not efficient. I was pretty surprised to see that my tall dark neighbor was back early from whatever it is that he does, he gives me a look, his eyes sent a chill down my spine. I could recognize those eyes anywhere, and most probably, he too could recognize mine because after our brief glance at each other he swiftly closed his door and bolted it. I had a feeling that he was here, I knew since he is on this planet also i could not ever be successful in my job. I sat on my couch and thought to myself, did my father send him to this planet to balance out pain and happiness? Well by the look of it, it seems like the pain and suffering was overpowering love and happiness.
My brother was winning. Quickly I jumped off my couch and had half a mind to go there and end everything right away. But then i remembered what i was sent to the planet for, my one and only job as my father's son. Ignoring this thought of mine was one of the biggest mistakes i had ever made.
The next day i set out on my job, this time to a hospital. All around me i could see suffering and death, i could not imagine that this was the fate so many people go through. But to my surprise i found out that my brother was standing right there sucking the happiness out of this young boy turning him into a sick old man. I had to stop him. But i could not disclose my identity so i chose to let it go and deal with it later. In the apartment i was waiting for his return. He did not return.
I went out searching for him. I found him in a dark place with some sort of syringe in his hand containing a transparent fluid. It looked like he was waiting for me, preparing for the attack, like i had made a big mistake coming to this planet in the first place. He takes out a gun and fires three bullets at me. The first two had missed but the third one hit my knee cap, i could not walk properly. The human form was too weak for me to control now so i had to come into my original form. A dense dark aura of despair surrounded him and he too transformed into his true form, the controller of death and despair, my brother, Lucifer. although he was strong the battle had finally ended. He was standing above me with his foot on my back. I was bleeding profusely, everything was lost. but in the distance my blurred vision could focus on one object only, The gun just a few feet away from me. I pushed him away from me and with one swift blow to the chest I could buy enough time to grab hold of the gun and stand up.
I aimed for his chest but shot his shoulder because i was disoriented from fighting and mortal weapons were stupid.
"Now wait brother, we can make a deal, i swear what i was doing was for a good purpose", he said.
I took aim and shot him on the knee, this time my shot was accurate enough to get him on his knees.
As i approached the bleeding body of my brother all i could think of was killing him and ridding the world of evil. But the thought of him being my brother did not make that decision any easier.
I pointed my gun on his forehead.
"I can explain!", he said
"What i was doing was not causing pain to that man, He was a notorious criminal who had murdered his own son to win a bet. He sold his wife to a drug dealer because he could not pay his dues so i had to punish him. I had come down here to remove the evil from this world but the contaminated minds of the people on the planet made it look like the suffering i caused to the evil people on the planet was another form of evil for which i should be punished. I swear by my father that i am not at fault here!."
His words did seem sincere, the evil minds here on this planet did bring about this question in my head to forgive him and let things go, after all he is my brother.
I could not decide what to do, I was holding a gun to my brother's forehead just thinking. Thinking that with the pull of a trigger i may kill an innocent man, My father would never forgive me for this.
So i dropped the gun and left him to bleed. While he was on the ground, I turned back to look at him once more. His face was swollen and filled with sorrow. Sorrow over the fact that the world that our father had made as an ultimate gift was crumbling to its foundations in the hands of a few men with power who have the ability to control a man's life completely. A job for a god was now in the hands of a mere mortal, an insignificant speck of dust underneath the toenails of god could now make a decision that could end all human life as we know it. The pain and suffering inflicted to the poor and underprivileged by a handful of wealthy men was a big insult to the humanity in humans. Man would sacrifice their mothers even just for a chance at some power and money which could make him powerful in certain societies.
This made me weep, I returned to my apartment contemplating the worth of human life and its meaning. I sat there wondering if it was worthwhile coming down to this world and trying to rid it of sorrows and pain.
"Do they deserve it?", I asked myself desperately searching for an answer to it, trying to give my arrival on this planet some purpose. I sat on my sofa staring at the ceiling, wondering, waiting for an answer. I guess some questions do not have any answers.

GMST arena

Good day fellow readers. I would like to talk about how this blog came to be in the first place before posting any more stuff.
But first here is something about me. I am a student in a college in Manglore studying as an undergraduate in the medical line (doctor in training). I have a basic understanding of programming in java, I play the guitar, I live for music and i am forever alone.
Alright so now about this blog.
It was a cold rainy night and i was extremely bored. I began playing something on the guitar after which i thought to myself
"It would be a great idea to talk to people about music, technology and sciences"
So i logged on to blogger.com and created a blog page. Now lets talk about how i came about with the title. Most of you must have heard of GSMarena right. Thats where the initial plan of this name came out. GMST when expanded is basically Gaming, Music, Science and technology (and arena cause it sounds cool).
In this blog i would like to express things i usually cant discuss with the general populace in my place mainly cause they don't get half of it.
If this blog gets famous enough i will add more people to edit it and maybe talk about some other common interests.
Thank you if you are a regular reader of this blog. I hope i can continue this blog without forgetting about its existence and keep people entertained.
May the force be with you.
